9 reasons to take action today
It is a shame that a lot of businesses are still withholding their investments into proper communication. Often, we hear from our clients the same question: “Why do I need a strategy for social media, these are just posts, and some ads?” or “Why do I need a specialist team to cover my social media needs?”

We’ve put together a list of the main points to answer these questions once and, hopefully… till the next time.
1. SMM is not about pics and captions. Proper SMM never was. On social media, you build your brand, approach your target audience every time you post anything (whether it is a publication on your page, comment below someone’s post, answer to the direct message).
2. Social media is one of your communication channels with the outer world. It is the main and only source of your new clients, employees, and brand awareness for some businesses.
3. There are so many options: Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest etc. It is important to consider as many as possible and, relying on data and your marketer’s experience, decide which ones to use and (sometimes more importantly) which ones not to.
4. Every publication is a little piece that builds into a bigger brand image that will lead your business when it grows. You can’t dismiss it.
5. You get a better grip on your social media communication. When working with an agency, freelance or in-house specialist, they should have something to rely on. If there is no social media strategy, they should create one for you first to make sure you, as a business owner or a marketing director, are on the same page with people who are going to communicate with the whole world on your behalf.
We strive to have as detailed and open communication as possible when creating and approving social media strategies with our clients.
👉 The better the conversation you have with your marketing team, the less time you will have to spend on checks and approvals of each publication (ideally, you won’t have to do that at all).
6. Marketing strategy is not the same as a social media strategy. When working on the latter, it is crucial to look at your competitors from the social media

point of view: learn what channels they use, what behavioural patterns can be spotted, analyse their content, following, engagement rate etc. to be able to know the market from this particular point of view.
👉 If you have a marketing strategy, though, it will definitely help and should reduce the time and resources spent on SMM.
7. Target audience is not always that obvious (almost never). When developing the strategy, it becomes clear who you are going to talk to and how.
Our clients often get to know their audience properly when answering our initial questionnaire designed to help us develop a target audience and portraits of those we are going to communicate with.
8. Content strategy. Even though different publications may reveal various topics and subjects, they all serve one purpose – to tell your brand's story from different aspects. It is very important to have the whole picture of this story – like a screenplay that moves from one episode to another, leaves so-called cliffhangers (when the episode ends with the proposal and we don’t know if she said “yes” or “no” and can’t wait for the next episode) and involves the reader (a.k.a. your existing or potential customer) in the life of your brand.
9. Visual concept. This is how your brand will be carved into your customer’s minds, and we want it right, consistent, and unique. As a professional agency, we suggest the best and most effective options for your company’s image on social media. You, as the owner or the person responsible for the company’s marketing, can have your own ideas, which we always strive to incorporate to reflect the unique identity of your business.
Still not convinced? Check your rivals' social media accounts. What platforms do they use? Are they any good? Check your favourite brands and how they perform, get inspired and realise that the time for not taking social media seriously has long gone.
